Durham is Seven Months Old!

Seven Months Old!
Our little guy turned seven months old just as Mama and Daddy went back to work.  He wasn't thrilled with the change in leadership and gave the new babysitters a bit of a hard time.  Thankfully, that phase was shortlived, and the babysitters all indicate that he's a friendly, easy-going little guy now.  (At least, that's what they tell me!)

This month wasn't a great month for sleeping.  He's still quite hit-and-miss concerning sleeping through the night.  More miss than hit, in fact.  It would seem that a seven month old wouldn't need to get up to eat in the middle of the night, but he still does.  Often.  He is still taking three naps a day as well.  Even though we still have the 2 am feedings, he's quite easy to put back down once he's eaten.  Ainsley hated sleeping out of our arms or our bed and put up a fight each time we tried to get her to sleep in her crib.  We'd have to go back into her room over and over, trying to get our sweet little monster to sleep on her own.  Durham is much more comfortable sleeping in his crib.  We haven't had a single night (yet) where we simply gave up the fight and brought him in bed with us.  Yay!

He started eating stage three foods this month.  Stage three foods are odd.  Some jars are soupy, watery messes, while others have chunks of pasta that seem too big for a baby to handle.  He became quite adept at sucking the juices off any chunks and spitting the chunks out en mass.  Feeding time is becoming messier and messier.  Regardless of bibs, we need to change his clothes after eating nearly every time.

Just at the end of the month, Durham started sitting up!  This was an exciting new step.  He can now sit next to a tub of toys and occupy himself for a decent amount of time.  Life is slowly getting easier again.  He's even started rocking on all fours, but mostly just likes to "superman" as he lays on the floor.

He's not saying much, but does babble "da-da" and yell and grunt at his toys.

Sitting up meant that we could change to taking baths in the regular bathtub with sister.  He loves to splash.  He splashes so much, Mama gets soaking wet by the end of the bath.  Ainsley doesn't like the splashing, and doesn't understand why he doesn't stop splashing when she asks him to stop.

Still no teeth for our little guy.  He's been drooling and upset about his mouth all month, but there's nothing to show for it.

We like to go for walks in the evening after work/school.  He usually uses that time to take a little twilight snooze.

Our colicky little rascal is turning into a pretty easy-going baby!
