Tubby Little Cubby all Stuffed with Fluff

On Thursday, July 21, 2011, Ainsley, Mommy, and Daddy went to see Winnie the Pooh at the Birch Run movie theater.  It was Ainsley's first full, real movie experience.  She's been excited about it for about a week.  We've been Youtubing Winnie the Pooh videos so she knows who the characters are.  That morning she stumbled out of bed saying, "I go to movie now?!" 


We attempted to take a group shot of the three of us leaving, but the camera wasn't cooperating well.  Turns out we kept taking videos of us standing there asking, "is this working?"  We aren't the smartest bunch.  :)


We were a little worried that she'd fall asleep.  She woke up at 6:30 am that day and wasn't the most pleasant to be around during the morning.  We knew she needed a nap, but were determined to make a fun movie experience!

We bought popcorn and sneaked a sippy cup of water in.  For a while, we thought we were going to be the only family in the movie theater, but soon a few more groups trickled in.  She said (very loudly), "THEY WANT TO WATCH POOH, TOO?"  After this, Mom and Dad tried to explain the rule about whispering in the movie theater.  She didn't get it.  At all.  


Every new preview or commercial would prompt a loud and emphatic "POOH IS COMING NOW?"  How do you explain previews to a 2 year old?

Mesmerized for a full 53 seconds.  After that, wiggles.  

Soon the movie started.  It was a good thing it only lasted an hour.  A package of Twizzlers was the only thing between us and meltdown near the end of the movie.  She watched about 75% of the actual story.  The rest of her concentration was focused on asking if she could sit near the other kids.  She went from Mom's lap to Dad's lap and back again.  She liked the musical parts the best.  They would get her movin' and a shakin' in her seat.


Thanks to Grammy for watching Durham so we could see Winnie!
