Durham's Baptism

Durham was baptized at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church on February 27th, 2011.   He was three weeks old and wore the cutest little button down white dress shirt and navy dress pants.  Initially the plan was to take Ainsley up to the baptismal font to view the baptism, but she was quite precocious that morning.  She stayed back with Grammy and Papa in the front pew.  She was close enough to see everything and said during the baptism, "Baby get a bath?"

 Durham's sponsors are Great Aunt Mary Storm and Uncle Steve Roberts.  The baptism went well.  Durham slept through the whole thing, barely flinching when the water hit his head.  It was a very long service as MOPS played a recruiting video, Lutheran Schools week was being celebrated, the Girls of Grace dancers were performing, and the fifth grade was singing.  Whew!  Pastor Bender did the baptism, while Pastor Alschwede gave the sermon.

Afterward, participants and families came back to the Roberts house for lunch and dessert.  It was a nice day to add Durham to God's family.
